2013 Trek Verve 3 WSD

Trek's Verve 3 WSD is a super-plush ride no matter where you choose to roam thanks to an easy-pedaling aluminum frame and a suspension fork to smooth any road or path. Sublime comfort comes in the form of a relaxed upright riding position with an adjustable stem and wide handlebars. And pedaling is a cinch, the 24 gears mean easy climbing. Plus, you'll love the cushy Bontrager seat and suspension seatpost that makes the bumps disappear. If you forgot how much fun riding was, one ride on the Verve, and you'll never forget.

I love my new Trek. It's easy, comfy, and rides like a dream. I'm 62 and got back on a bike after 25 years. It has the proper weight and gears for me at my age and for recreational biking. And did I mention how pretty it is :)

After hurting my back I found I needed a more upright comfort bike for commuting to work. I tested out several brands and models and was most impressed with the Verve 3 WSD. Unfortunately they didn't have my size in stock and only had the white color, so when the sales associate asked if I wanted it in grey I said yes. When I picked it up the next week I was really disappointed that it was decorated with bright yellow flowers. I was so excited to get my bike, and having to travel 30 minutes out of town to the store, I convinced myself that maybe the design would grow on me. But no. I'm actually kind of offended that Trek would assume women want flowers on their bikes; they certainly don't decorate men's bikes with bacon or mustaches to make it more "manly." In all, it is a great, comfortable bike with quality components, but I regret buying a bike that has to remind me and everyone else around me that this is a girls-only bike.

It was time for me to switch from a road bike to a more comfortable women's bike. I have tried several other bikes before choosing the TREK Verve. The grips as well as the comfort sold me. I purchased a water bottle holder (velcro mounted) and was trying to decide where to place it especially since I kicked it everytime I got on the bike. My husband mounted it on the handbar stem. It fit perfect and is not in the way. In fact, I have easy access to it when riding.

Very happy with my new bike. I like riding pretty much upright so added a handlebar height extender when I purchased it. Good decision. Rode my husband's 1970s-era bike recently. Major difference due to the great front and seat shocks on mine. Another good decision. The convenience of the click lever shifters are worth trade-off in handlebar accessory mounting space. Just getting back into the hobby and am amazed at how far I can ride without getting fatigued. Love my bike.

I'm very pleased with this bike. It's everything I wanted and more. The bike is so enjoyable to ride, I find myself using it more and more. The shifting on this bike is absolutely flawless and the main reason I purchased it! The one thing that's hard for me to get use to is my water bottle is mounted on the handlebars, since it's the step-through style, not a big deal just something I'm adjusting to. I love this bike!!

                        Comments:

This is the first "real' bike I have owned. I have only had bikes from large department stores. I am a beginner and just recently joined a local bike club, so I am getting rides in a couple times a week for about 11-15 miles each ride. We ride on trails and the road. I was initially very impressed with the smooth ride and shifting. After a few minor adjustments (handle bars and saddle) I was later impressed with the comfort of the saddle and lack of aches in my arms and back. The comfort level helps me to stay in the saddle and go additional mileage that I never would have done on my old bike. I look forward to getting on my bike and riding as much as i can. As another reviewer mentioned, I, too, was unimpressed with the color choices. I ended up with the gunmetal (silver) with yellow detailing...it's really grown on me. I, also, purchased the matching fenders and rear rack. It looks great, keeps me clean, and carries my extras! I have to say that this was a very expensive item for me but I do not regret making this purchase because it gets me out exercising and I don't even consider riding this bike exercise; it's my therapy!

I've ridden my new Verve four times now, and I'm so glad I spent the extra money and got a GOOD bike. This bike is comfortable and fun to ride. I mostly ride on our extensive local greenway system, but I'm looking forward to riding the Virginia Creeper Trail and the Cades Cove Loop in the Great Smoky Mountains. I now feel that I have a bike that will let me do these things. Now we're going to get one for my husband so we can ride together! To me, the only drawback is the very limited color choices, but that's a lot less important than how great it is to ride.

I absolutely love this bike! I have always bought department store bikes and thought they were just fine until I rode this bike. I cant believe how smooth of a ride this bike is, it pedals so easily. We ride on a lot of bike paths but sometimes we ride on off-road trails and it still handles great. Although I would not recommend muddy trails. It is also great for putting my sons seat on as well. Now every member of my family rides Trek bikes. I will never ride anything but a Trek again!
