2014 Trek 7.4 FX WSD - Women's

Light. Sporty. Lively. Trek's 7.4 FX WSD is perfect for getting in shape or ditching the car and pedaling to your errands and to work. Its lightweight aluminum frame gets up to speed in a blink, while the carbon fork delivers quick steering and a smooth ride. The easy-rolling, road-bike-sized 700c wheels along with the hill-flattening 27-speed Shimano drivetrain let you ride further and faster than you may have thought possible. And, the FX is made for not just speed, but comfort as well with a more upright riding position, a supportive seat, and an ergonomic handlebar and grips. You also get puncture-resistant tires and powerful linear-pull brakes. Have fun out there!

Love this bike!!! I put a basket on the back so I can bike to the store. It's fast enough to maintain a fast pace when riding with the bike club. My friend has a 7.2 and does TRI's with hers. This is a great middle of the road bike

Ive been riding for a very long time and this is the first time I've had to wear padded shorts. Come on Trek, this seat is the WORSE and I've had four other Treks before this one.

I try to ride my bike every day for at least an hour to help control my diabetes. It has help me so much that I have dropped my A1C level 1 point and have had to change my medications! It also improves my mood!

        Comments:

This bike is really light weight compared to my last one that was really heavy to lift. The gear changes are very easy to use. Didn't use gears much on my last bike but now I am using my gears more so can move quicker and get up hills that I used to push my bike up! I use this bike to keep fit riding for up to 2 hours at a time. The silver colour looks good but is set off better now I've added mud guards to it. I like the fact that the seat can move up/ down/ back/ forward to get the best position, as can the handle bars. As this is a ladies specific cycle it does the job really well, although I find the 'cross bar' a little high at times and the ergonomic handle grips gave me cramp at first, but seem to be getting used to them. Would highly recommend. Love it!!

          Comments:

I use it daily, buzzing around... I live in an urban setting, very responsive, handles like a porsche 911, I've owned one, so I know... I was considering an upgrade to the 7.7, but for the extra money, and the four stars for the 7.7... I'm going to stick with the 7.4. I do 35-50 miles per week, very comfortable. One negative I find is when I stand and ride and shift while standing, the gear/chain sometimes slips. That could be from my weight (200) or the way I ride it hard. You can ride this bad boy hard... And fast... I highly recommend it... And I'm very picky.... Enjoy it... I do daily!

I wanted a bike that would help me climb hills since I live in a hilly area. Shifting gears was always a problem before. Now it is a breeze and it is light enough for a small woman to handle.

Needed an upgrade after foot surgeon told me cycling was the best exercise after my surgery.I test rode several different bikes but knew immediately when I hopped on the Trek 7.4 that it was the bike for me! I especially love the handlebars-very comfortable for my 1-2 hour rides. I like the saddle and find it to be comfortable. This bike is light and fast. I love my new Trek 7.4 and looking forward to new cycling adventures. I would highly recommend this bike!!!

              Comments:

I bought this to be my get-around, worry-free, go anywhere bike and could not be happier! Due to circumstances beyond my control, I can't really enjoy my road race bike but really miss cycling and desperately want to regain some fitness and have some fun. This bike is great! It fits - at 4'11" I have stand over and can just jump on and go! My first ride was nothing but bliss on smooth roads and choppy ones! I'm glad I opted for this model with carbon fork. Had the higher end models been offered in 13" frame, I would have upgraded again. I did not like the stock saddle at all - ended up purchasing something more suitable at extra cost (well worth the upgrade). Also, the components seem mostly ok but not what I'm used to... I could see me upgrading the drivetrain in future to afford some smoother shifting. Overall though, I simply love this bike. I'm extremely happy with my purchase!

              Comments:

I use this bike to commute to work (~20 miles/day) and also to ride around on San Francisco's hilly terrain for long rides on weekends. I find that the bike seat is more comfortable than my other bike's "cushy"-looking seat, even on the longer rides. The bike also shifts great; smoother than the 7.3 and 7.2 models and equally as nice as the 7.5. I was deciding between the 7.4 and 7.5 and chose the 7.4 because I didn't feel there was a significant enough improvements in the 7.5 to justify the price jump. And when test riding the bikes, I had more fun riding the 7.4 (perhaps because of the great bright color). On the downside, I would say that the bike is much heavier than road bikes in general and that's probably why road bikes pass me even though I'm peddling with all my effort. I also have to lift the bike often to get it on the train, cars, etc. and find that its pretty hefty, but not prohibitively so. Its noticeably lighter than the 7.3 and 7.2 bikes and is similar in weight as the 7.5. Overall, I'm very happy with the bike and I have a lot of fun riding it around.
